Up to 109 aspirants have filed their certificate of candidacy (COC) for district representatives for the 2025 Bangsamoro parliamentary elections during the week-long filing from November 4 to 9, 2024.
According to the Commission on Elections-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (COMELEC-BARMM), of the 109 aspirants, 15 are from Maguindanao del Sur; 24 are from Maguindanao del Norte; 41 are from Lanao del Sur; 14 are from Basilan; 10 are from Tawi-Tawi; and five are from the Special Geographic Area (SGA).
Meanwhile, from the 10 approved regional political parties, eight have filed their manifestation of intent to participate (MIP) in the 2025 parliamentary polls.
“Scrutinize again those MIP with all those documents, kung kompleto naman based on the law, we will recommend to the commission en banc for for its approval,” COMELEC-BARMM Director, Atty. Ray Sumalipao, said.

“If the Supreme Court upon the motion for reconsideration filed for the purpose as they bind or they will turn our decision… siguro we will open through the Commission En Banc, will open another case of filing to give way to the province of Sulu and if ever… kung maibalik ang Sulu,” Sumalipao added.
Authorities said the COC and MIP filing was conducted peacefully.
“Walang naitala since Monday po, since nag-start ang filing that’s November 4 until November 9…generally peaceful,” Cotabato City Police Office Director, Col. Michael John Mangahis, said.
