An inspection at the Liloan Port in Southern Leyte yielded 57 packs of suspected shabu concealed in tea bags.
Elements of the Liloan Municipal Police Station, Maritime Police, Philippine Ports Authority-Liloan, Philippine Coast Guard-Liloan together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority VIII-Seaport Interdiction Unit-Southern Leyte (Lead Unit), and Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office conducted a K9 inspection at Liloan Port, Barangay San Roque, Liloan town in the Province of Southern Leyte on November 8, 2024 at 1:50 p.m.
The 57 packs of tea bags with suspected shabu weighing 57 kilograms have an estimated market value of P387,600,000.
The inspection was conducted during the unloading of vehicles from a fast craft that came from Surigao City.
No person was arrested during the inspection. However, the driver of the vehicle was traced in the manifest as a certain "Toring." His whereabouts has been traced, as of this writing.
He is set to face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
