The hair follicle drug test taken by incumbent Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte and Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) party-list Rep. Migs Nograles yielded negative results.

Duterte and Nograles are rivals for House representative for Davao City’s First District in the 2025 national and local elections.

They both took the hair follicle drug test on same day in separate locations on October 23, 2024. Duterte underwent the test in Mandaluyong City while Nograles had the test done at a clinic in Davao City.

Nograles posted the drug test result in a Facebook post.

She also posted the negative result of her pregnancy test after rumors came out that she got married because she is pregnant.

Nograles subjected herself to a drug test after Duterte made a challenge.

Earlier, Duterte challenged his rivals to undergo a hair follicle drug test to ensure that the future leaders of the city are not using illegal drugs.

Hair follicle drug test can detect illegal drug substance in the body within the past three months. It is more accurate compared to the urine drug test, which can only detect illegal drugs from the body within the past few days.

According to a political analyst, the challenge to undergo the hair follicle drug test is personal for the two.

“This is really personal since last election eh magkakampi sila. Ngayon na magkalaban sila it’s really personal kaya nong nagkahamonan talagang it went through. Believe me lahat ng ginagawa nila ngayon will be used sa campaign period,” political analyst, Ramon Beleno III, said.

“Ang advantage ni Congressman Pulong is that he is the incumbent syempre ang mga programs na prino-provide sa 1st district will be coming from him on the other hand may advantage din si Migs kasi ang PBA nag-iikot din, at the same time she’s with the administration so may resources yun,” Beleno added.
