A 22-year-old female college student in Butuan City died after she was electrocuted while picking mangoes using a steel pipe.
Based on investigation, the student climbed the tree and sat on one of the branches to pick mangoes.
However, the steel pipe touched the primary tension line of an electric post accidentally, causing her to get electrocuted.
The student did not fall from the tree. Authorities retrieved her body using a boom truck.
She sustained severe burns in the body and did not reach the hospital alive.
