With Typhoon #MarcePH approaching, Pangasinan's Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) is on blue alert, ready for emergency action following recent storms.

First responders and equipment are already on standby, ensuring teams can respond quickly if needed.

“Ang ating mga first responders ay nakaantabay. ‘Yung mga equipment ay nakaantabay, naka-pre-position in any case na kailangan ng dispatch operation,” Avenix Arenas, Assistant DRRM Officer of Pangasinan, said.

The PDRRMO reminded families to prepare and cooperate with pre-emptive evacuation orders if necessary.

The PDRRMO said they will monitor key rivers closely, including San Roque Dam’s water level, while Calasiao’s Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) keeps watch over low-lying areas still flooded from previous storms #KristinePH and #LeonPH.

“Ugaliin po natin na maging handa at alerto. At nakahanda ang mga essentials na kakailanganin natin,” Kristine Joy Soriano, spokesperson for the Calasiao DRRM Office, said.

In flood-prone Barangay Poblacion, Carlos Sarmiento, a resident, shared his concern.

“Abot dito. Basta umulan ‘yan kasi wala nang lalabasan ‘yan eh,” he said.

Basedm on latest MDRRMO data as of November 5, 2024, the Marusay River remains one foot above its normal level, adding to the area's ongoing flood challenges.
