A 47-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her 68-year-old estranged husband after he discovered her with her new partner in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan.

According to police, the suspect had come from a drinking session and decided to visit his wife so he could bring her back home.

Michael Murao, Deputy Chief of Urbiztondo Police, said.

The suspect then asked his 47-year-old nephew for a ride.

The victim, who was with her new partner, was drying rice grains.

Upon the suspect's arrival at the scene, he reportedly tried to convince his wife to go home with him, but she refused, which led to a confrontation.

"Along the way, nakasalubong niya yung biktima at yung kinakasama niya at doon nagkaroon ng confrontation hanggang nauwi sa habulan,” Murao added.

The suspect said:

The woman’s partner managed to escape, but she was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Her husband, now in police custody, expressed regret over his actions.

"Tinira ko ‘yung asawa ko, hindi ko alam kung patay o hindi, at tumakbo na ako,” the suspect said.

The couple’s children, devastated, revealed that their parents had been separated for six months.

The suspect faces parricide charges, though his children have not yet decided whether to pursue the case.
