Baguio City welcomed over 15,000 tourists during the long weekend, that started on Friday, November 1, 2024, All Saints’ Day.
Many went to the City of Pines for mini-reunions and a break from city life.
"Malamig daw kapag ganitong season kaya mas pinili naming Baguio kasi mas malapit lang, four hours drive lang from Novaliches," Abegail Trongco, a visitor from Novaliches, said.
For others, the visit was a chance to reconnect with close friends.
“Baguio feels like home to us. Me, personally, kahit once a year nagpu-punta talaga ako. After 14 years naming magkakaibigan, ngayon palang kami pumunta ng Baguio,” Leonardo Marmol Javier, Jr., another visitor, added.
Tourists like Rissa Aumentedo took advantage of the time left before returning to their routines.
“Narito po kami para sulitin yung mga natitirang oras kaya papasyalan pa namin yung ilan — 'yung hindi pa namin napupuntahan — dahil hindi namin alam kung kailan kami makakabalik dito,” she said.
According to Baguio City Police Office spokesperson PMaj. Marcy Marron, the weekend was largely peaceful, with no major incidents reported.
“Overall assessment, generally peaceful. As a matter of fact, wala tayong naitala na krimen simula October 31 to November 2,” she said.
