Following the devastation caused by #KristinePH and #LeonPH, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is stepping up its efforts to assist families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine in the Bicol Region and Cagayan Valley.
In the early hours of October 30, DSWD personnel collaborated with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Philippine Air Force (PAF) to deliver additional family food packs to remote areas in Camarines Sur, specifically Barangays Itangon and Caorasan in Bula, following the floodings caused by Severe Tropical Storm #KristinePH.
Meanwhile, on October 31, DSWD Field Office 2 in Cagayan Valley distributed 45 family food packs and 15 sleeping kits to families in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan, as part of their immediate response to Super Typhoon #LeonPH.
In the same day, the DSWD Field Office 5 in the Bicol Region has successfully delivered 231 family food packs and 47 hygiene kits to the remote island of Atulayan in Sagnay, Camarines Sur.
The DSWD Field Office 5 in the Bicol Region said they delivered a total of 28,893 family food packs from their regional warehouse in Barangay Bogtong, Legazpi City in Albay successfully to various municipalities in the region impacted by #KristinePH.
As of October 30, this include distributions of:
- 1,000 FFPs for Bulan, Sorsogon
- 1,000 FFPs for Lupi, Camarines Sur
- 1,000 FFPs for Vinzons, Camarines Norte
- 1,600 FFPs for the provincial government of Camarines Norte
- 3,000 FFPs for the provincial government of Sorsogon
- 2,000 FFPs for Matnog, Sorsogon
- 6,000 FFPs for the provincial government of Albay
- 800 FFPs for Goa, Camarines Sur
- 3,000 FFPs for Pili, Camarines Sur
- 993 FFPs for Tiwi, Albay
- 8,500 FFPs for the provincial government of Camarines Sur
In Basco, Batanes, a total of 36 families, or 128 individuals, were housed temporarily at the Provincial Evacuation Center due to #LeonPH.
DSWD relief teams continue to work tirelessly to ensure that essential aid reaches the most vulnerable communities.
