Close to P50 million suspected shabu was seized in separate buy-bust operations in Cebu City and in Lapu-Lapu City.
Suspected shabu worth approximately P35.7 million was seized by personnel of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 from a 55-year-old man in Sitio Back Blessed, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City evening of October 29, 2024.
Meanwhile, close to P14 million suspected shabu was confiscated by police personnel from a 31-year-old man in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City evening on the same date.
It was learned that the suspect is a resident of Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City.
Seized from his possession were two kilos and 45 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P13.9 million.
Members of the City Intelligence Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO) conducted the drug operation after a follow-up operation on a member of the LGBT community who was nabbed for a kilo of suspected shabu a week prior to the recent haul.
According to LLCPO Director Police Colonel Dyan Vicente Agustin, officer in charge, the suspect has been tagged as a high-value individual (HVI), in charge as “bodegero” (keeper of stocks) of illegal drugs.
As of this writing, police operatives have conducted a follow-up operation on the suspect’s cohort, especially the person or persons that have given him orders.
