A fire destroyed over 10 houses and hurt four persons in the District of Molo, Iloilo City.
The fire broke out midnight on Monday, October 28, 2024 in Zone 1, Barangay Boulevard.
According to the Iloilo City Fire Station, the cause of the fire is “electrical in nature.”
Five houses were gutted totally while five others were gutted partially. According to city firefighters, four persons were injured that include a 29-year-old woman and a two-year-old boy.
FO2 Earl Anthony Darroca, arson investigator, said that based on initial investigation the damage reached ₱672,000.
The fire struck a compound approximately 224 square meters wide.
The report mentioned further that houses gutted totally were owned by Ronnie Josal, Sr.; Ronnie Josal, Jr.; John Nopueto; Mark de Castro; and Eddie Kay Aranzado.
Houses that were damaged partially belong to Eddie Grace Aranzado, Lauren Tayongtong, Ferdinand Josal, Rudy Josal, and Mary May Lustania.
Over 40 individuals sought temporary shelter at the barangay evacuation center.
A 29-year-old woman sustained burns on her right arm and foot, while two children sustained burns on their left arms.
As of posting time, investigation is going on to establish the cause of the fire.
