A convoy of fuel tankers, carrying 20,000 liters of petroleum and hundreds of LPG cylinders, arrived in the Bicol region afternoon on Monday, October 28, 2024, as part of the Department of Energy’s (DOE) "Fuel Caravan" initiative.

This delivery aims to support ongoing emergency response operations and economic recovery in areas affected by the recent flooding brought by #KristinePH.

The Fuel Caravan ensures a stable fuel supply for vital emergency vehicles, including ambulances and rescue trucks.

Each tanker in the convoy can fill up to 400 ambulances.

In a statement, the DOE expressed gratitude to other government agencies for their on-ground support in facilitating the caravan and managing traffic.

"The DOE appreciates the joint efforts on the ground of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Philippine National Police - Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) personnel for facilitating the Fuel Caravan and traffic management," it read.

As of Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said a total of 33 areas in Bicol remain flooded, affecting 2,856 barangays.

Over 632,000 families, or 2.7 million individuals are affected, with over 357,000 people still staying in evacuation centers.

A total of 130 roads and 16 bridges remain impassable, the NDRRMC said in its 8 a.m. situation report.
