The Cagayan de Oro CIty Police Office is looking at deploying hundreds of cops and force multipliers during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

The police office said it will implement maximum deployment from October 31, 2024 to November 3, 2024 at both public and private cemeteries.

It will also open an assistance desk at every cemetery.

It is expecting thousands of people to visit the cemeteries in the city, both residents of CDO and even from other LGUs in the province.

“Pagmuntar sa atong police assistance desk ug kini maghatag og gabay sa atong mga kaigsuonan nga buot mubisita sa mga nagkadaiyang sam-ang,” said P/Lt. Col. Evan Viñas, spokesperson of the Cagayan de Oro City Police.

Viñas warned those visiting cemeteries against bringing prohibited items like musical instruments, intoxicating drinks, and sharp weapons, among others.

“Ato pud pahimangno nga kung musulod sila og sam-ang ato sila gidiskurahe sa pagdala niining mga musical instrument ug kining ilimnon makahubog, mga hait nga hinagiban ug gidiskurahe gyud nato sila sa pagdala og posporo gani man,” he said.

Aside from cemeteries, the police will also secure tourist destinations and other areas where people are expected to flock given the long weekend.
