A truck driver and his helper died after the truck they were riding crashed into a tree in Tarragona, Davao Oriental.
Police said the truck loaded with cement was heading to Manay town when its brakes allegedly malfunctioned while navigating a curved portion of the road.
“Padulong ni sila sa may Manay area ihatod unta tong mga semento. Katung mga tonner nga semento so wala na sila kaabot unfortunately kay nadisgrasya. So mao ni siya self-incurred lang siya na accident. Wala’y nabanggaan sila sila lang nadisgrasya,” Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Major Isidro Capili, said.
The two were rushed to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
