The City of Talisay Traffic Operations and Development Authority (CT-TODA) has sued a taxicab driver in Cebu after he tore, crumpled, and threw away reportedly a citation ticket issued to him by a traffic enforcer.

According to Jonathan Tumulak, CT-TODA chief, that they have taken seriously the disrespect displayed by the driver toward the enforcer as a warning to other motorists who disregard traffic rules and the authority of traffic enforcers.

The citation ticket was issued after the taxi driver was apprehended for beating the red light at San Isidro Junction of the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) in Talisay City, south Cebu Province. But instead of explaining about the violation and apologizing for his wrongdoing, the driver upbraided reportedly the enforcer saying he was in a hurry.

Before he fled, the driver said allegedly that no citation ticket could ever scare him, and that the traffic enforcer could, in fact, issue him an entire ticket pad. However, upon reaching Uldog Junction, he was apprehended again and turned over this time to Talisay City Police Station Chief, Lt. Col. Epream Paguyod.
