Over P56.5 million worth of family food packs (FFPs) were distributed across Bicol, following the effects of Severe Tropical Storm #KristinePH, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office V said on Friday, October 25, 2024.

“To ensure timely assistance, the Social Welfare and Development Offices (SWADOs) and City, Municipal SWAD Quick Response Teams (QRTs) in the six provinces are closely coordinating with the Local Government Units (LGUs) for status reports and updates,” Regional Director Norman Laurio said in a press release.

According to the latest report on October 24, the DSWD Field Office has P196,728,304.61 in standby funds and supplies ready to support ongoing operations. 

The department said they have prepositioned 89,227 FFPs, valued at P63,316,352.58, at key locations around Bicol to reach families quickly.

DSWD teams, in partnership with LGUs, have also provided P622,844 worth of hot meals to stranded travelers at various ports.

Laurio assured that "the Department is comitted to reaching affected families, especially in isolated areas."
