Farmers in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, worked hard to save their rice crops as strong winds and heavy rain from Severe Tropical Storm #KristinePH wreaked havoc to the area.

Many rice plants were submerged in floodwater following a downpour, and farmers fear their harvests could be destroyed completely if the weather worsens.

#KristinePH made landfall in Divilacan, Isabela at 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

As of 5:00 p.m., the center of #KristinePH was located over the coastal waters of Santa Lucia, Ilocos Sur.

As of this writing, the storm is moving westward, and holds maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near its center, with gustiness reaching up to 115 km/h.

In Burgos, local farmers did their best to collect the rice that blown away by strong winds.

They stored the remaining harvest in a shelter to protect it from floods.

Some of the rice was harvested just days ago but was left in the fields because the farmers could not finish collecting before the storm hit.
