Residents in Pangasinan felt the impact of Severe Tropical Storm #KristinePH as strong winds and a storm surge caused flooding and disrupted daily life.

While rain was not as heavy compared to other areas in the country, authorities remained on high alert for the potential effects of the storm.

In Barangay San Isidro Norte, Binmaley, fishermen lined up their boats on the road to keep them safe from the rising waters.

In Barangay Buenlag, a ship ran aground, which was reported to authorities for investigation.

“Sumadsad ‘yan mga 11 o’clock kagabi... they will call the attention of the Coast Guard,” Mayor Pedro Merrera III of Binmaley said.

In Lingayen, flooding reached the Capitol beachfront, making it difficult for residents and motorists to navigate the area.

“It is an act of nature ‘yan eh. We have to make do whatever we can,” Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil of Lingayen said.

The storm surge also affected the coastal Barangay Maniboc, with residents in Sitio Villa Maniboc, Sitio Casulming 2, and Castillo Baybay experiencing the worst conditions.

“Kung tumataas na ‘yung tubig, inabisuhan ko ‘yung mga tao, sabi ko lumikas na tayo,” Ramil Palisoc, the barangay chairman, said.

Storm surges were also reported in Alaminos City, Infanta, Dagupan City, San Fabian, Labrador, Sual, and Bolinao.
