More than 2,600 families were affected by the flooding in Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte.

According to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), up to 16 barangays in the town were flooded.

Waist-deep floodwaters entered a school in the town while the river has overflowed.

The local government has suspended classes and work because of the flooding.

Families affected are staying temporarily at the gymnasium and were given assistance.

Meanwhile, five houses in Barangay Carmen, Baguio District in Davao City were damaged due to strong winds brought about by the trough of Severe Tropical Storm #KristinePH.

“Nitabok gyud mi didto oh kay kusog man kaayo ang hangin, ulan pajud. Wala naman gyud, dili naman gyud na marepair kay gisi-gisi naman ang atop namo,” one of the affected residents, Marivic Saud, said.

The strong winds also damaged more than 1,000 banana trees at a farm.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is still validating the number of residents affected and the extent of damage.
