The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported seven fatalities, four injuries, and seven individuals missing as of 8 a.m. on October 24, 2024 due to Severe Tropical Storm (STS) “Kristine.”

Flooding has been recorded in 143 areas, resulting in 17 landslides.

“Nationwide, over two million individuals have been impacted, with approximately 51,000 affected families currently residing in evacuation centers and other facilities,” the report added.

OCD emphasized that flooding remains a pressing concern for rescuers in the Bicol Region.

“Water levels remain high,” OCD Spokesperson-Director Edgar Posadas pointed out, particularly in Naga City and several other municipalities in Camarines Sur.

“There is an upcoming reinforcement from the Southern Luzon Command, both in personnel and equipment, and concurrently, less affected regions will also be providing assistance,” he said in a press briefing in Malacañang morning of October 24, 2024.

As of 2 p.m. on October 24, 2024,  #KristinePH progressed over Southern Ilocos Sur.

“The center of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine has been located over the coastal waters of Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur, moving west-southwest at a speed of 15 km/h. It is currently exhibiting maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center, with gusts reaching up to 145 km/h,” state weather bureau PAGASA said in its latest advisory.

Forecasts indicate that #KristinePH will continue its westward or west-northwestward trajectory over the West Philippine Sea, expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by afternoon of October 25, 2024, PAGASA added.
