Heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm #KristinePH have caused rapid water level rise at rivers across Isabela, leaving several bridges impassable and prompting the evacuation of nearly 400 residents.

Overflow bridges in Annafunan, Gucab, and other locations nearly could no longer be used with residents fleeing to safer areas.

One family in Ilagan City relocated their animals and belongings, fearing that their home might not withstand the storm's force.

"Uwi na kami kasi malaki na ang tubig sa ilog," Merlita Nicolas, a resident, said.

As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, nearly 400 people have been moved to evacuation centers. Strong winds and heavy rains pose further threat to safety, especially for vulnerable groups.

"Kasi, malakas ang hangin, hindi safe doon. May baby pa naman ako," Filma Baddong, an evacuee, said.

#KristinePH is expected to make landfall in Isabela evening on October 23, 2024.

Authorities are on high alert, especially in southern and northern parts of the province due to potential flooding.

Coastal residents of Divilacan and Palanan have also been evacuated due to storm surge threats.

"Downstream sila, ang flow ng tubig ay south to north, yan ang pinaka mababa," Isabela PDRRM Officer Atty. Constante Foronda, Jr. said.
