The Albay Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council - Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management office (PDRRMC-APSEMO) has ordered the immediate evacuation of residents in areas at risk of flooding, lahar, and landslides due to Tropical Storm #KristinePH.

The order was made on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Authorities aim to finish evacuations by 5 p.m. 

It reads: 

"Due to the widespread effect of TROPICAL STORM KRISTINE causing continuous rainfall that had caused flooding and possible landslide, the Albay PDRRMC-APSEMO hereby orders EVACUATION of population exposed to flooding, lahar, and landslide effective immediately to be completed before 5:00 p.m. today October 22, 2024."

It directed the Department of Education in Albay, Tabaco, Legazpi, and Ligao to prepare schools to be used as temporary shelters.

It also asked the police to provide security along evacuation routes, at evacuation centers, and to communities to be evacuated. 

"The following response cluster of Albay PDRRMC is likewise activated and is directed to implement necessary interventions to provide lifesaving and humanitarian assistance to support evacuation and camp management to wit: PHO, PSWDO, PGSO.
