A botched robbery of a pawnshop in Ormoc City in the Province of Leyte led to the arrest of two of six suspects. 

The incident happened at about noontime of October 17, 2024 along Rizal Street. 

The alarm went off which called the attention of policemen. 

The guard of the pawnshop said that one of the suspects wore an athletic police uniform. He said he was disarmed by the robber.

The 37-year-old suspect is said to be from the Province of Zamboanga del Norte, while the 22-year-old is said to be from Argao town in Cebu Province. The latter donned a blue shirt with the word “PULIS” emblazoned at the back. 

A caliber 45 firearm was seized from one of the suspects.

Charges were being prepared, as of this writing, against the suspects. 

A netizen caught the suspects on video while they were scampering after their getaway motorcycle crashed. The video further captured the arrest of the two robbers.
