Cebu Technological University (CTU) suspended classes at its main campus in downtown Cebu City following a bomb threat morning on Monday, October 21, 2024.

The school's official student publication, The Nation Builder, reported that an unidentified Facebook account posted the threat with photos of another incident grabbed online.

The campus has been vacated as authorities investigate the incident.

The Nation Builder's report reads:

"Students from Cebu Technological University-Main Campus (CTU-MC) are being escorted out of campus premises after an unidentified Facebook account posted a bomb threat this morning, October 21, 2024.

In the Facebook post, the account posted the details of the bomb threat with bomb pictures, which were allegedly grabbed from Google.

CTU-MC Campus Director Ramel Genobiagon said that classes are suspended today and advised students and faculty to vacate and not to enter the campus in the meantime.

The investigation is currently ongoing with police officers arriving in the University."

In a memo released later to faculty, employees, and students, the campus director also said the midterm examination scheduled on October 21 and 22, 2024 is rescheduled upon the recommendation of the college deans.

The main campus would be closed until further notice.

Genobiagon urged the CTU community to be vigilant and report suspicious activities to authorities.
