Authorities raided two online prostitution dens in Tayabas and Lucena in Quezon where 10 victims were rescued and five suspects were arrested, the Philippine National Police - Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) said Thursday, October 17, 2024.

ACG spokesperson Police Lieutenant Wallen Mae Arancillo said the victims were asked to perform sexual activities in exchange for money inside these establishments.

“Wala pong dinisclose na payment po pero 60%-40% po ang hatian ng handler at victim po. Kung gaano po kalala ang ginagawang sexual activity ng performer, ganun din kataas ang rate po,” Wallen told GMA News Online in a message.

(The amount of payment has not been disclosed but the handler and victim share 60%-40%. The more extreme the sexual activity is, the higher the rate.)

The operations against the two online prostitution dens on October 12 was conducted by virtue of two Warrants to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data, the ACG said.

It added that upon learning that an online prostitution den was operating in the suspects’ residence, policemen conducted cyber patrolling, surveillance, and online probe to gather evidence.

According to the ACG, most of the clients are foreigners.

“Evidence gathered during the operation revealed that the rescued individuals were involved in online prostitution through a website, primarily serving foreign customers,” the ACG said.

“The system of the said website was designed to automatically decline login attempts from local Philippine credit cards,” it added.

Complaints for violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 were filed against the suspects, the ACG said.
