A 24-year-old teacher in Talugtog, Nueva Ecija was arrested for allegedly raping his Grade 10 student.
According to the victim's parent, the assault happened during a school activity evening on October 8, 2024.
The teacher allegedly dismissed the rest of the class but made the student stay because she reportedly needed to fix her grades.
During their conversation, the teacher allegedly turned the lights off and disconnected the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera before assaulting the student.
The police said the student was not able to react due of fear.
"Hindi na niya nakuhang mag-react dahil sa kadahilanang nanigas ang kaniyang katawan dahil sa takot," PCPT Marius Maniego, officer-in-charge of Talugtog Police Station, said of the student.
After what happened, the teacher allegedly threatened the student he would fail her in his class if she would tell anyone.
But the student confided in her parents the following day, which led the family to file a complaint with the police.
The teacher is now under the custody of the Talugtog Municipal Police Station.
Both the suspect and the victim's family have declined to give further statements.
