Police have arrested seven suspects in the killing of a couple in Mexico, Pampanga who was into online selling.

On October 4, 2024, Arvin and Lerma Lulu were ambushed by riding-in-tandem criminals while on board their pickup truck.

In a press conference held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, three suspects, including the alleged mastermind, were presented to the media.

The mastermind was captured earlier that day in Apalit, Pampanga.

The other four suspects were not presented due to ongoing inquest proceedings.

Authorities revealed that the motive behind the killing was a P13 million debt one of the suspects, also an online seller, allegedly owed the victims.

“Allegedly, yung mastermind, yung utang niya na P13 million... humanap siya ng middleman para ipapatay ang mag-asawang Lulu,” PCol. Jay Dimaandal, Pampanga police provincial director, said.

The mastermind hired gunmen allegedly for P900,000 and instructed them to steal a check and two cellphones from the couple's house.

Police also recovered firearms and other items used in the crime during the operation.

The suspects admitted to being involved in at least 12 other shooting incidents across Pampanga, Bataan, and Nueva Ecija, according to PBGen. Rederico Maranan.

All seven suspects are now facing double murder charges.

Authorities are also investigating the possible involvement of the mastermind's spouse.
