At least 12 fishermen were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) after their boat, FBCA Nhiwel Jay-2, encountered engine trouble in the West Philippine Sea on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
The boat's crankshaft pulley had broken down, leaving the crew stranded.
Upon receiving the report, the BRP Cabra of the PCG responded quickly, towing the boat back to shore.
All fishermen were brought safely home to their families in Subic, Zambales, with no injuries reported.
