A gasoline station attendant was hacked in the face by a customer who said the attendant threw expletives at him.
The incident in Tagum City was caught on CCTV camera.
In the video, the rider is seen pulling a bolo out of his motorcycle’s compartment and using it to hack the gasoline boy in the face.
The gasoline boy ran away and the suspect even tried to chase him.
The suspect identified as alias “Dodong” was arrested when he returned to his motorcycle.
Police said the suspect had his motorcycle refueled, full tank, but allegedly paid only P50.
The gasoline attendant accepted the payment but also checked the motorcycle’s plate number after reportedly noticing something strange about the rider.
This did not sit well with the rider.
“Pagtan-aw niya, murag lain man ang galaw atong nagpatubil, iya lang sa gilili kung naa’y plaka, kung may plate number, kay lain ang iyang paminaw basin mag-hold up daw or unsa. Naa ma’y plaka iya na lang gipagbigyan unta. Kalit lang siya gitigbas og bolo knife kung diin naigo ang iyang right face,” Tagum City Police Station Chief, Lt. Col. Wildernar Tiu, said.
Police said the rider admitted hacking the gasoline attendant allegedly because the latter threw expletives at him.
“Ang alibi niya nga namalikas daw tong pump boy nga gibalikan siya nganong magpa-full tank-full tank pa siya, ang iyang alleged nga gisulti, P1,000 ang iyang kwarta pero P50 lang ang nadawat sa pump boy,” Tiu added.
The suspect is now under police custody and may face attempted homicide charges. The gasoline attendant is recuperating at the hospital, as of this writing.
