The body of a 23-year-old man was found floating at the Abra River in Barangay Mabungtot, Langiden, Abra on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
The victim was identified as James Española, a native of General Santos City who was living in Bangued.
Española was reported missing after reportedly drowning a week earlier.
His body was recovered with the help of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), police, and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The body was transported across the river using a rubber boat.
Family members believe there was no foul play involved in his death.
“Ngayon [na] nakita namin siya, komportable na kami,” Louie Delos Santos, Española's cousin, said.
