Law enforcement agencies headed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 seized suspected shabu worth a total of P20 million from a female suspect during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City on October 11, 2024.

The city's public information office shared details of the operation on its Facebook page with photos showing Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia present at the bust. 

Garcia who took his oath recently as mayor described the operation as a "good job."

The buy-bust operation was carried out on Cokaliong Street in Barangay Carreta where authorities arrested a certain Maria Christine Gonzalez Abarquez alias 'Tinang,' 51, a resident of Barangay Cogon Pardo, also in Cebu City. 

Confiscated from Abarquez were up to five kilograms of shabu. 

PDEA's Regional Special Enforcement Team Mandaue City Office (RSET-MCO) and Intelligence Section-Intelligence Operation Unit (IS-IOU) carried the operation out together with the Naval Forces Central and PRO Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PNP).

Abarquez is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
