The Bureau of Internal Revenue-Davao (BIR) has closed up to 22 establishments in the region for failure to comply with their tax obligations.
BIR-11 Director, Esmeralda Tabule, said these establishments are from different industries.
Data from BIR-11 showed that more than 17,000 establishments have been inspected to check whether they are paying the right taxes.
BIR-11 also confirmed that around 55 tax evaders are already facing charges.
Tabule said BIR-11 has been doing its best to collect proper taxes from the taxpayers.
