A tricycle driver in Calasiao, Pangasinan died after a fellow driver stabbed him with a knife allegedly because of a conflict over passengers.
The incident happened just a few meters away from the Barangay Hall of Barangay San Vicente morning on October 10, 2024.
The victim was identified as Ryan Agpoon while the suspect was identified as Al Suarez.
The victim and the suspect reportedly figured in an argument first before the suspect stabbed the victim to death.
P/Capt. Anthony Doctolero, deputy chief of the Calasiao Police Station, said the two drivers have had a conflict over passengers.
“Dating may alitan na’po… nag-aagawan ng pasahero,” he said.
The two men were residents of Barangay Dinalaoan.
“Maayos sila. ‘Yung napatay nga, tahimik ‘yun, eh,” said Alberto Roy, councilman of Barangay Dinalaoan.
Another councilman, Johnny de Guzman, said the barangay hall has a CCTV camera but is defective.
“Napatid sa main kaya hindi siya gumagana ngayon,” he said.
The suspect refused to issue a statement. He is facing charges.
