A three-cornered fight, all-female race is determined in Lapu-Lapu City in the May 2025 elections for mayor after a businesswoman named Cristine Takahashi filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC).
Takahashi, under the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) party, filed her COC at past 3 p.m. on the last day of filing, on October 8, 2024.
Earlier, former Lapu-Lapu City mayor Paz Radaza and incumbent Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Representative Cindi King-Chan filed their COCs.
In the vice mayoral race, only two have filed their COCs – Atty. Michael Dignos and incumbent Vice Mayor Celsi Sitoy.
For congressman, incumbent Mayor Junard Chan and businessman Ryan Jay Yuson have aspired for the position.
Meanwhile, about 30 aspirants will battle it out for 12 seats in the City Council.
