The Philippine Army (PA) and Philipine Air Force (PAF) launched their 2024 Interoperability Exercise (IOX) at Melchor F. Dela Cruz in Gamu, Isabela, which began officially on Monday, October 7, 2024.

The joint exercise aimed to strengthen cooperation between the Philippine Army (PA) and Philippine Air Force (PAF) by refining air-to-ground operations and combat readiness.

"The exercise aims to enhance interoperability, combat readiness, and operational efficiency between the two services,” PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo said.

Hosted in Isabela, the event gathered 1,100 soldiers and 351 airmen for the week-long drills, which also extended to Rizal, Kalinga.

The activities included Command Post Exercises (CPX), Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEE), and Field Training Exercises (FTX).

The activities sought to enhance the forces’ capability to respond to various threats, with topics covering air support, intelligence, medical evacuation, logistics, and more.
