At least three aspirants have filed their certificate of candidacy (COC) for mayor in Mangaldan, Pangasinan.

Incumbent Mayor Bonafe De Vera-Parayno, Vice Mayor Dr. Mark Stephen Mejia, and former Mayor Marilyn Lambino will be against each other for the position in #Eleksyon2025.

On the final day for filing COCs, Parayno expressed her commitment to continue vital projects in education, health, and agriculture.

"Looking forward on more of our kabataan special education, and the rest will be the same. We will serve our people with dignity, respect, and transparency," Parayno said.

Mejia also joined the race, emphasizing his focus on health issues in the community.

"Unang-una sa health, kasi alam natin na maraming sakit ngayon... makikita natin lahat ng problema. Ang masasabi ko, andito ako para tumulong," he said.

Lambino filed her COC earlier on October 5, seeking to reclaim her position.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) reported a smooth and efficient process in the filing of COCs in Mangaldan.

"Upon checking their COC forms, may mga incomplete, pina-pacompile namin. That is one way of accepting their COC. It's good to note naman kung personal silang nagfi-file," Gloria Cadiente, the municipal election officer, said.

To ensure security during the filing process, the local police implemented full deployment.

"Naka-maximum deployment [ang police], especially dito sa place of convergence ng mga tao. Regular naman na may duty parati tayo sa may COMELEC office to serve as mag-aassist sa mga kandidato na puwede mag-pila," PLTCOL. Roldan Cabatan, chief of the Mangaldan Police Station, said.
