A 41-year-old rider died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into an electric post in Barangay Quesban, Calasiao, Pangasinan evening on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
The victim was identified as Edgar Datugan from Barangay Baybay Lopez.
Datugan had been drinking reportedly with friends before heading home.
Police suspect that Datugan may have lost control of his motorcycle as he was navigating an uphill section of the road, which led to the crash.
He suffered a fatal head injury from the impact.
Police urged drivers to avoid driving after consuming alcohol.
“Sa lahat ng nagmamaneho, kung nakainom man tayo, kung pwede never na tayong hahawak ng manibela. Lagi nating iisipin na may pamilya tayo na laging naghihintay,” PCpt. Anthony Doctolero, Deputy Chief of Police, said.
