Authorities seized alleged smuggled cigarettes worth around P2.3 million and arrested two minors guarding the items at the Tulay wharf in Jolo, Sulu.

Personnel of the Sulu Maritime Police Station responded to a report about the alleged smuggled cigarettes in the area.

Authorities recovered up to 40 master cases of cigarettes piled up along the wharf and arrested two minors guarding alleged contraband.

The seized items were brought to the Sulu Maritime Police Station for inventory in coordination with the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

The minors, on the other hand, will be turned over to the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) for intervention.
