Former Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno is seeking a political comeback as he filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for mayor on Monday, October 7, 2024.

Moreno’s running mate is former Councilor Zaldy Ocon. They are running under the local group, Padayon Pilipino.

Cagayan de Oro First District Rep. Lordan Suan is also seeking reelection while the members of the slate for the City Council also filed their COCs.

The former mayor will likely face his former ally, incumbent Mayor Rolando Uy, in the mayoral post.

In Misamis Oriental, incumbent Governor Peter Unabia is seeking another term as he also filed his COC on Monday.

He was accompanied by Misamis Oriental Second District Representative Yevgeny Vincente Emano who is also seeking reelection.

The two were running under the Paglaum and Padayon Pilipino coalition.
