Several key figures have filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for #Eleksyon2025, marking the start of a high-profile race in Northern and Central Luzon.

Former President and current Pampanga Second District Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo filed her COC on Saturday, October 5, 2025, at the Provincial Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office.

Running under Lakas-CMD, she seeks her third and final term as congresswoman, vowing to continue supporting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s programs if re-elected.

In Tarlac, Vanessa Singson, daughter of former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson, filed her COC for mayor of Sta. Ignacia under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, with her father accompanying her.

Chavit Singson also filed his candidacy for senator on the same day.

In Nueva Ecija, actor Rommel Padilla is running for board member of the 1st District, supported by his brother, Senator Robin Padilla.

In Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, incumbent Vice Mayor Carlos Fariñas filed for his second term, joined by former First District Rep. Rodolfo Fariñas and other party members.

Following them, Board Member Rodolfo Fariñas and Laoag City Councilor Roger Fariñas II filed their COCs for re-election.

Laoag City Mayor Michael Marcos Keon has also officially submitted his COC for his third and final term.

In Dingras, Ilocos Norte, re-electionist Mayor Jeofrey Saguid and Vice Mayor Erdio Valenzuela, along with their party members, filed their COC for various local positions, including council seats.

In Abra, the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) National President JB Bernos marked his birthday by filing his COC for congressman in the lone district of Abra under Lakas-CMD.

Joining him are former Governor Eustaquio Bersamin, running for governor again, and his brother, former Board Member Anne Bersamin, seeking the vice governor position, both under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
