Three years after losing the presidency to Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. in 2022, former vice president Leni Robredo has chosen local politics in the midterm polls.

Robredo has filed her certificate of candidacy for mayor of Naga City in her home turf, Camarines Sur, bringing with her "Team Naga 2025," a line-up she unveiled on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Robredo said the selection process for Team Naga was guided by community involvement and rigorous evaluation.

The candidates were chosen based on their integrity, experience, and dedication to people empowerment, with

"Ang aking mga kasama ngayon, lahat na-evaluate base sa tatlong kategorya: sa ethical standards, sa capacity at experience, sa governance," she said in a Facebook post.

Outgoing Camarines Sur Representative Gabby Bordado will run for vice mayor.

Bordado served previously as Naga’s Vice Mayor during the time of Robredo’s late husband, Jesse Robredo.
