An altercation on the road turned deadly when a 21-year-old taxi driver in Baguio City was stabbed fatally by two brothers following a confrontation.

The victim was identified as Jhonsen Pelayo.

The incident occurred on Asin Road evening on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

According to Baguio City police, the argument stemmed from the victim’s alleged attempt to overtake the suspect, which the suspect did not take lightly.

"Allegedly itong victim ay nag-overtake at itong suspek ay hindi natuwa doon sa pag-overtake kaya nagkaroon ng gitgitan sa daan. And allegedly, nagkaroon ng sakitan na nagdulot ng pananaksak," Police Major Harriet Bulcio of the Baguio City Police Office, said.

Pelayo was rushed to the hospital but succumbed later to his injuries.

The suspects fled the scene but surrendered eventually.

Both are now in police custody and are facing murder charges.

“Na-inquest na po 'yung dalawang suspek kagabi at nai-file na or nai-refer na po sa prosecutor ang murder case laban sa kanila,” Bulcio said.
