Three people, including two young children, died in a tragic collision between a tricycle and a dump truck on the Candaba-Baliuag Road in Barangay Pulong Palazan, Candaba, Pampanga.

The tricycle, coming from Baliuag, Bulacan, attempted a sudden U-turn, colliding with the dump truck from Porac, Pampanga.

"Dun sa pinangyarihan, bigla pong nag-U-turn si tricycle, which is hindi po na-anticipate ni truck kaya ayun nag-collide po sila," PMaj. Michael Pamintuan, Candaba Police Chief, said.

The impact dragged the tricycle, leading to the death of the victims.

Among the victims were a five-year-old girl who died at the scene, and a 47-year-old passenger. A two-year-old child succumbed to injuries the following day.

The tricycle driver and his live-in partner, who were also on board, were treated at a hospital.

The truck driver is now in police custody and may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, injuries, and damage to property.

The tricycle was brought to the barangay hall, and the truck remains under police custody.
