A public elementary school teacher in Misamis Oriental was arrested for allegedly abusing his students sexually and spreading their lewd videos and photos online.

Personnel of the PNP’s Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) raided the house of the 43-year-old suspect in Barangay Waterfall, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

WCPC said the suspect allegedly molested his students and former students and spread their nude photos and videos on the internet.

“Ginagalaw niya talaga yung mga bata masama man pakinggan lalo na’t nakapublic yata tayo pero yun ang ginagawa niya sa mga bata. Nagkakaron ng sexual activities with these minor victims,” PNP-WCPC Mindanao Field Unit Chief, Lt. Col. Mario Baquiran, said.

During the operation, authorities rescued six minors – four boys and two girls – and seized the suspect’s gadgets containing explicit videos involving him and the victims.

Police said the suspect allegedly admitted having molested the victims and paid them P300 to P500.

“Inamin mismo ng suspek na bawat galaw niya sa mga bata ay binabayaran niya ng P300 up to P500 yun ang mga binibigay niya. So siguro ang mga bata nagkakapera rin sila kaya ok lang sa kanila na nangyayari ang ganitong sitwasyon,” Baquiran added.

Police declined to have the suspect interviewed by the media as investigation is still ongoing.

The suspect will face charges for violation of the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act (RA 11930).

“Ingatan nila dapat nalalaman nila ang activities ng mga batang ito lalo na kung weekends kasi itong suspek natin very influential pwedeng makagawa ng rason pag-reportin niya yung bata o whatsoever na rason na pumunta yung bata sa kanyang residente at inaabuso na niya pala,” Baquiran said.
