While 98 percent of electricity in Ilocos Norte has been restored after Typhoon #JulianPH, some sitios in the town of Adams remain without power, at least as of this writing.
Businesses in Batac City were affected briefly by the outage at the height of the typhoon.
“Malaking bagay sa amin ang kuryente sa mga tulad naming mga negosyanteng maliliit,” Oscar Tolentino, a small business owner, said.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the delay in restoring power in Adams is due to damaged posts.
“Kapag may mga poste kasing nasira medyo yun ang dapat aayusin,” Engr. Randy Nicolas of the PDRRMO said.
The provincial government is hopeful to fully restore electricity before the weekend.
Meanwhile, power has already been fully restored in six towns in Batanes, including Sabtang and Itbayat, as of 11 a.m. of October 3, 2024.
