The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in SOCCSKSARGEN (Region 12) has approved the increase in the daily minimum wage of workers in private establishments.

RTWPB-12 granted a P27-P48 increase, setting the daily minimum wages to P410 in the agriculture sector and P430 in the non-agriculture sector, including retail and service establishments.

The wage order will take effect on October 17, 2024.

“As in any wage order, and as provided for in the NWPC Omnibus Rules on Minimum Wage Determination, as amended, retail/service establishments regularly employing not more than ten (10) workers, and enterprises affected by natural calamities and/or human-induced disasters may apply to the RTWPBs for exemption from the wage increases,” the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) said.

“Barangay Micro Business Enterprises are not covered by the minimum wage law pursuant to Republic Act No. 9178 [2002],” it added.

The last wage order for workers in private establishments in the region was implemented on October 16, 2023.
