The second day of the filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) in Pangasinan saw large crowds of aspirants and supporters, with Governor Ramon Guico III officially filing for re-election.

“Marami pa tayong gagawin. We would like to have time to fix all of those,” Guico said.

“Three years is not enough to finish all of the beautiful and developmental-oriented programs that we have started,” he added.

Meanwhile, former Governor Amado Espino III is set to file his COC on Saturday, October 5, 2024 marking his return to the gubernatorial race.

According to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), despite the crowd, the situation remained under control.

As of 1:55 p.m., 147 aspirants for various positions had already filed their candidacies for the 2025 midterm elections.

"Smooth pa rin naman kahit maraming supporters. Maayos naman... nagpapasalamat tayo dahil ganoon yung kanilang naging disiplina," Atty. Ericson Oganiza, Pangasinan Provincial Election Supervisor, said.

The PNP and COMELEC continue to coordinate to ensure a peaceful filing process until Tuesday, October 8.

"Nagkalat yung mga PNP personnel... iensure talaga sa public peaceful yung gagawin nilang pag-file ng COCs," PLTCOL Brendon Palisoc, Chief of Dagupan City Police Station, said.
