Batanes has been placed under a state of calamity following the devastation caused by Super Typhoon #JulianPH, which severely damaged homes, infrastructure, and farmlands.

Strong winds tore off the roofs of houses, including the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), which also experienced flooding.

Initial assessments show that over 2,400 homes were damaged, and agricultural losses are estimated to be worth P4 million.

Several residents sustained injuries, and some livestock were lost due to the storm.

In Uyugan, part of a church roof collapsed.

Despite being no stranger to typhoons, local officials say #JulianPH is the strongest storm to hit the province in recent memory.

Power, water, and communication services remain limited as recovery efforts are underway.
