Batanes experienced severe damage to homes and infrastructure after Super Typhoon #JulianPH battered the province with strong winds and heavy rain.

On September 30, 2024, powerful winds nearly stripped trees bare in Sabtang, while heavy rains added to the damage.

In Uyugan, a mix of floodwaters and mud flowed through streets, causing further disruptions.

The storm also tore off the roofs of several homes and cut off electricity to much of the province. Telecommunication signals were affected as well.

At Basco Airport, an airplane's wings were damaged by the intense winds.

Local authorities are preparing to distribute construction materials, such as wood and metal sheets, to help residents rebuild their damaged homes.
