Burglars carted away cash worth around P400,000 from a grocery store in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.

The incident was caught on CCTV camera.

The burglars were first seen rolling up the door of the grocery store. A man in hoodie jacket fished out a bolt cutter from his backpack and destroyed the padlock of the store’s window.

Another man in hoodie jacket sneaked through the window first. However, the entry of another accomplice was not captured in the CCTV footage.

The incident happened at dawn of September 26, 2024.

According to the store’s workers, they did not notice of the ransacking going on at that time as they were in deep sleep. They only learned of the incident from a fellow worker who thought the grocery store had opened earlier than usual.

“Nang magbubukas na kami, dumaan ang kasamahan namin. Akala nga niya, bukas na kami. Pera lang naman ang nakuha niya, hindi naman kami ginalaw,” Apple Calma, a grocery store worker, said.

In a police investigation, the suspects had monitored the store early on.

“Base sa ating investigation, nakita natin na nagbabantay na sila at kumukuha ng tyempo na makapasok at magnakaw,” Captain Peter John Ramos, officer in charge of Police Station 6, said.

The suspects were identified positively by the authorities with the help of the CCTV footage as persons who already have police records.

“Yes. Ang ating tina-target na mga suspect, mga persons of interest natin, may mga record sila,” Ramos added.
