A man was arrested for raping allegedly his own mother in Candijay town, Province of Bohol.
The 40-year-old man raped reportedly his 61-year-old mother at around 5 a.m. on September 27, 2024.
The man is reportedly an ex-convict who was released from jail recently after 14 years imprisonment for murder.
His mother, a widow, sought help at the barangay hall. The case was referred to the Candijay Police Station.
Police Captain Albert Sator, chief of the Candijay Police Station, said that the mother could not bear the abuses anymore.
She disclosed to the authorities that she was first raped by her own son when she was around 40 years old, that was when her son was in his early twenties.
The victim said she was threatened by her own son not to report to the authorities, or she would be killed.
The incident happened again in the early morning of September 27, 2024 and she said she was again threatened she would be killed if she tell anyone of the incident.
She added that the suspect was drunk after attending a funeral vigil. The suspect reportedly lied beside her in bed, hugged her, and raped her.
The mother said her daughter, a differently abled person, saw the incident.
